South Oregon Trip (Sea Lion
Caves, Dunes, Tree House, Redwood forest)
This is February of 2010. We had a really cool trip to South
Oregon during our mid-winter break. We went to Sea Lion Caves, Oregon Sand
Dunes, stayed in real Tree houses close to the California border and finally
Redwood National Park. We have done this loop almost 10 years back with a
different group of friends. Now we did it with our friends Ravi-Lavanya, Vidhu,
Rajavel-Priya, Raghu-Guna and Dilip-Vidya. The highlights of the trip in the sequence we did
it:
 |
Sea Lion Caves: We stayed at a resort right on the
ocean. Fantastic view. The location of caves itself is high above the ocean
with an incredible view. I could not get a great set of pics of the Sea
Lions - but seeing hundreds of them was pretty cool.

 |
Oregon Sand Dunes: The largest stretch of Sand Dunes
in the country. Miles and miles of sand dunes, each hundreds of feet tall.
We rode it in a large "Dune Buggy" which was like an open bus. Lot of fun.
Everyone loved it. I have also done this a few years back taking individual
buggies which is even more fun and adventurous and I would advise people to
do that too if they get a chance. |
 |
Out 'N About Tree Houses: A scenic place near the
California border where they have a farm converted to a resort with real
Tree Houses which we can rent and stay in. Not the most comfortable place to
stay but a lot fun and definitely an unique experience. |
 |
Redwood National Park: The most massive trees you
will ever see. Some of the country's oldest, tallest and biggest trees are
in this forest. You will feel humbled by nature when you visit this place.
